Side Ladder - Transit High Roof

Regular price $595.00 Save $-595.00

The Transit side ladder is custom-designed to bolt directly on to the FVC Transit Low Pro Roof Rack and the Safari Rack. It’s built to give you easy access to your Transit roof rack for cleaning solar panels, accessing rooftop storage, and even lounging on your decking.

A side ladder takes away the pain of finding a ladder each time you need to access the roof. These vans are tall, and having a quick and safe way to access your roof to clear snow or debris off your solar panels is well worth it.

The Transit side ladder is made from 1.25” aluminum round tube with 12x ¾” wide formed aluminum steps. The double kink of our ladder follows the lines of the Transit van for a sleek look. The side ladder mounts to the Low Pro Roof Rack and Safari Rack at the top and mounts to the pinch seam with a provided bracket at the bottom. Ships in two pieces for easy delivery to your door.

  • All hardware included for mounting to the Low Pro Roof Rack & the Safari Rack.
  • Powder coated black to match the Low Pro Roof Rack.
  • Quick and easy installation - you no longer need to remove the plastics to mount the side ladder.

Great product!

I ordered the rack and ladder. Love the product! I was able to install it all by myself. Took only a couple hours to have it fully installed. Silas at Flatline Van Co. was super helpful and made the ordering process seamless. Highly recommended.

Easy to install and works great

Makes accessing everything on my roof and in the roof box easier. I mounted 4 100 watt solar panels, the biggest yakima roof box they make...(one solar panel is mounted on top of the roof box.) Also there is a small roof top deck to sit or stand on which makes getting things out of the roof box way easy. Also there is a pa horn on top and it all fits around my roof vent.

I love the versatility and the ability to make the roof rack work for you and your needs.

Amazing ladder

This is a great addition to the low pro roof rack! The fit and finish are perfect and the install is easy, once you get the rocker molding off. Be careful with those clips, they are tricky.

Botton line, you won't be dissapointed.

Great Product and Looks Great!

The quality of the FVCO products is so good! The ladder bolted right up to my Low Pro roof rack and looks and works great! I have to ding FVCO for the lack of instructions (not that it is a very complicated install), and also for missing hardware. My ladder came with a bottom bracket that aligned with some tabs/ribs on the underside of my Transit 350HD. These tabs/ribs have holes that the FVCO bottom bracket lines up with, but the bottom bracket didn't come with any bolts to attach to these tabs/ribs! So i had to search through my bolt bin to find something that would work in the short term, which I was able to. But then yesterday i had to remove them so i could use some better fasteners that i had to go out and buy. Not a huge deal, but definitely added to the time spent installing the ladder. Second issue is with the self tapping screws that the bottom bracket comes with to attach to the pinch welds on the Transit. They are basically useless. I found a few videos on youtube that showed people removing the exterior plastic trim to gain access to the pinch weld in order to then be able to screw the bottom bracket to the pinch weld. But i decided to use the self tapping screws and attach the bottom bracket to the inside of the pinch weld, facing outward, so i wouldn't have to remove the bottom plastic trim. That worked great except the self tapping screws had no chance of getting through that metal pinch weld, so i i had to drill holes first, and then use the self tapping screws. Unfortunately the first one proceeded to strip and spin in the hole! But luckily i was able to use the remaining self tappers to attach to the bottom bracket in 4 different spots, so i think it is strong enough. I'm hoping those self tapping screws hold up, but i'm happy that i have the 2 bolts holding the bottom bracket to the factory tabs/ribs. Overall, very happy with the finished product, but for the money, would expect there to be instructions included, and the necessary hardware for the job.

Solid Ladder

The ladder is built like a tank and the finish seems to be robust and durable like the rest of FVC's exterior products. My only gripe is the severe lack of instruction on how to mount the ladder, and the neccesity to drive your own self-tapping screws to piece the two pieces of the ladder together on round tubing which is not the easiest thing to do well for those unfamiliar with fabrication. For the price, a set of weld-in nuts would have been preferred and easier to use. Again, instructions on what to expect and how to install including how to remove the body panels/rocker guards, and reinstal said panel would have been primo, but the ladder itself is fantastic!
