Easy installation and flexibility.
I just finished installing the FVCO roof rack and fairing on our 2018 Ford Transit 250 148" MR. My wife and I are headed to the finish line on our van conversion. This week I will get the side ladder installed. I am not an overly technical-skilled person, but this was an easy one-man job. Really! There are not a lot of steps and it is just easy to do - but an extra hand is always a great idea. You can see my 2-minute install video here - https://youtu.be/PXmMQC_Va_E and my full 15-minute install video here - https://youtu.be/_QQaZt-EkDo. We cannot wait to get our van conversion done and get out on the road! I am adding a small deck on the VANCO roof rack and it will be fun to hang out there and do some Milky Way filming in safety! Great product VANCO!
Installed my roof rack on my Ford Transit in 30°F temps and it was simple and straight forward. Even with frozen fingers the process was easy to follow!
However, either giving an Allen key or telling what size key was needed would have been helpful!
As has been said before, the heights to match up from front to rear. Not a major concern but I feel it could be an easy fix.
I ordered the Low Pro Roof Rack for our 148" medium roof Transit at the end of the year and it arrived just over a week later after the holiday. The boxes were in good shape and packed well. I installed it on our van over the following weekend. It took about 5 hours, but I spent about an hour of this time cleaning and waxing the roof. Installation was straightforward. The written and video instructions were helpful. I corresponded with FVC via e-mail on a couple of things and replies were prompt and helpful. I put the rack together on the roof in pieces while leaving the bolts semi-snug but not tight. I tightened the bolts piece by piece after aligning everything. Another reviewer commented on the challenge of aligning the two side rail pieces. It was challenging. I used a clamp to align and hold these pieces in place while I tightened the bolts, which seemed to work fine. I am very happy with how strong and solid the rack feels. It's simple, functional, and looks good. I will apply some additional sealant around the footers to further protect against water intrusion, but that's me being overly cautious. Looking forward to using the rack! I recommend it and FVC.
Hey everyone! I have a 2018 Low Roof 350 XLT (148” wheelbase), and have been agonizing over what roof rack to get until I realized the mid roof and low roof have the same mounting points. That said, the Flatline Low Pro Roof Rack - made for the Transit 148" Mid Roof works perfect, and everything lines up great. It actually looks like it was made for it, as the front edge lines up exactly with back edge of the front door.
There are other name brand racks that cover the entire footprint of the roof, but they require drilling new mounting holes into the roof for front support. I didn’t want to do that, as using factory mounts only was a priority.
Best yet, each person (Russell & Silas) I’ve worked with there have been beyond helpful. I was hesitant to leave a message thinking I won’t get a call back, but he (Russell) not only called, but he was polite, helpful and professional. I had a couple questions I emailed in after getting the rack, and Russell was more than helpful, and I even had follow up help from Silas.
All in all, the product and the service at FCV are top notch, and I’m beyond satisfied with my purchase.
