Tire Carrier Rotopax Adapter
Spare tire roto pax adapter was a nice add on for hauling jug on rear of van.

I purchased the spare tire carrier for my 2016 Transit awhile ago. With the purchase came the Rotopax adapter. I recently put it on the carrier and mounted the gas can to the adapter. There was some wobble where the little threaded knob lock put pressure on the cylinder of the tire carrier . Taking it apart I realized that the fit between the two was not tight. I had to wrap the pipe with two layers of duct tape and then drill a hole in the pipe for the threads of the knob to be inside the pipe. It worked. The wobble worried me, not that it would come off but wobbles can turn into oopses.
It went together easily and seems to be a decent design.
The pin hole is the same size as a standard hitch pin, which is helpful as you need a locking hitch pin to lock it on.
Otherwise it can be removed easily, allowing someone to take your adapter and whatever rotopax mount and tank that’s attached.
It looks good, and can mount close to the tire.
