Our Solar Panel Mounting Brackets are designed to allow you to flush mount your solar panels to your FVC roof rack, making the installation clean and simple. They are designed to be used with our Low Pro or Standard series Sprinter, Transit, & ProMaster roof racks; or any other roof rack that features 8020 style extrusion crossbars.

Choose Your Option

Standard Height (1.5"): The Standard height option is designed for 1.5” solar panels, and may be used with thicker panels (thicker panels will be limited to bottom-mount or raised-mount orientation).

Low Profile Height (.67"): The Low Profile height option is designed for ZAMP Obsidian Series 0.67” thin solar panels.

How Can I Mount My Solar Panels With These Brackets?

Flush-Mount: This is the most common option and works for 1.5” or .67” panels. Install the brackets in the T-slots on the top of the crossbars to have the solar panels flush with the top of the crossbars.

Bottom-Mount: This allows you to use the crossbar for other purposes and have solar panels installed. Install the brackets in the T-slots on the bottom of the crossbars.

Raised-Mount: Flip the bracket over and install in the T-slots on the top of the crossbars for a raised solar panel height.

Solar panel mounts

These mounts and cross rails for the low pro rack are perfect. They work just right for my Renogy 200 watt panel!

Installation Hacks

My FVC roof rack has a usable width of 57.3" whereas most 200W solar panels are an inch or so longer. No worries, just orient them different. Thought top-mount was too high and flush-mount wouldn't allow more support in the middle. Decided on bottom-mount so spare cross-beams would support panels in the middle since they were attached on ends. Good luck trying to align t-nuts for a blind attempt to insert bolts from the bottom. Solution: Set your phone on the van roof in selfie mode. You can now see when t-nuts are aligned and easily insert bolts. 600W on roof of Transit 148". Two Renogy 200W and two Rich Solar 100W thin panels on either side of Maxxair fan leaves room for vents. Specs match closely giving 597W output wired in series/parallel.

Solar Panel Clips

The clips are much stronger than originals that came with my Tranquility Thor van. The Mercedes factory side rails are difficult to make the new clip installation as there is just no room to fit hands and tools under the panel.
The job got completed, but what a pain. I am just glad that I had two Flatline side ladders previously mounted in place to perform the work at hand. Great ladders too!

Super helpful, they returned my call when they said they would. They helped me get a better shipping rate to Alaska. 👍.
