I ordered an aluminum they sent a steel. Why would you use steel to bolt a plastic bracket to an aluminum rack?
After an hour of farting around I managed to bolt the plastic bracket to the steel. This would have taken 3 minutes IF my Starlink bracket had the two holes in it.The instructions say you have to have the two hole bracket, it can be done without.
So next it’s time to bolt steel to aluminum rack, and the 6mm bolts come with 1/4” lock washers that don’t fit in the countersink holes. Farted around with this, long screws and short screws, for another 20 minutes and came to conclusion it has to have the right lock washers 😡 Trip to hardware store, and the 6mm locks don’t fit either because of the powder coating 😡. I ended up using the long bolts to drive the 6mm locks into the holes, then switch back to short bolts to tighten down the bracket.
In the end it all came together, but not smooth or easily. If FVC can fix the hardware, the countersink, and the aluminum material , I’d recommend it.
