Easy to install with one person. Helps with noise.
Without the fairing, wind noise caused by the channels in the extruded aluminum cross bars is pretty annoying/stressful. After we installed the fairing, we didn’t notice any wind noise at all. Great purchase. Main feedback/heads-up: install the cross bar onto the fairing first. Then attached whole unit to side rails. In order to tighten down the screws, you’ll need to use a Vice grip or pliers to hold an Alan bit to tighten the screws in the tight space between the folds of the fairing.
I took the advice of a fellow YouTuber and Flatline support to assemble the fairing on a crossbar before getting on a ladder to attach it to the VANCO roof rails.
See my attached video - it must be easy - I have no mechanical skills - I just fake it! : )
Good solid roof rack, easy to install by one person.
Exactly what we were looking for! Incredibly easy to install! We ran into a small hurtle with one of the holes on our van not being threaded correctly-called the company and they had a solution (that worked) for us in less than a hour! So easy to install and SO WELL MADE!!!! We have a 148 ext and the roof rack runs the ENTIRE length of the van roof (even past the slope!) so happy with our purchase! Hurry up and get the ladder in stock! We are loyal customers!
The rack arrived so quickly after I ordered it I was amazed! Thank you.
